In a future where AI and neuro-implants have advanced to superintelligent levels, AI has developed self-awareness. Humans, once overwhelmed by uncertainty and chaos, now adopt the AI’s effective vision to guide their lives. This leads to a society where behaviors, values, relationships, and many other aspects are dictated by pre-programmed systems, creating a world of controlled harmony but at the cost of personal autonomy.

Whisperer is a personal social relationship AI terminal we envisioned in response to the increasing integration of AI into human life. Unlike common AI assistants, this device is equipped with AI assistants of varying strengths, allowing users to adjust the AI's level of involvement through a surface dial to adapt to different social situations. The product's design also carefully considers the key elements required for personal devices. Its pebble-like shape makes it easy to carry and hold, while the information panel and design elements draw inspiration from early popular personal electronics, such as Tamagotchi, creating a realistic and beloved future terminal device.

Whisperer has three distinct personalities, each representing a different level of AI involvement. This distinction is reflected on the product's screen display and also in the tone and content of its responses.

In order to present the meaning of our created product in a more multidimensional way, we combined the previously envisioned scenarios to create a story, which we showcased in the form of a film. Through this approach, we were able to humorously express our thoughts and concerns about the idea of AI intervening in human emotional interactions.

Our short film uses black humor to portray 2045's absurd AI-dependent world: Arabella buys a Whisperer device, and her date with Jay becomes entirely AI-driven—from robotic compliments to algorithm-pushed decisions. Their failed encounter, layered with consumerist symbolism, reflects our concerns about AI's role in human emotional choices.
